39 days until I'm a Frazier!

Hey everyone!

We've been working hard to make things come together this year!

My first Summer Recital ended up happening at In Your Ear Studios on Broad St (long story short, the guys at OMP had some schedule conflicts and found this venue for us) on Sunday June 2nd. I was pretty nervous, but I really wanted it to be a great experience for my students and their families! It ended up being a sweet and intimate concert setting, and the people at In Your Ear Studios were so accommodating and helpful. I loved it a lot and am so grateful to this music community for supporting and uplifting us with their time and space! I’m also very proud of everyone in our little OHM circle for being so encouraging and cheering each other on. Special shout out to my fiance, Jared, for recording videos for me and my students, setting up the reception area, and for being my all around constant companion through my first recital hosting experience!

My hope is to have another Winter Recital in January 2025, but with the wedding and holidays coming quickly, it’s honestly been hard to commit to right now! I hope eventually I will be able to sustain a Summer and Winter Recital routine in the years to come! As always, I’ll keep you updated on this!

Building this business has been one of the coolest things I’ve done so far. I’m so excited to build a life with my partner, Jared, as we celebrate our wedding next month! He’s constantly cheering me on, encouraging me, and reminding me that what I do is so important and rare. He’s the one reminding me that I care so much and I have so much to give, even when I struggle to believe it myself. He is such a big part of why I choose to teach, and why I teach with such high quality.

He’s the best person I’ve ever met, and I feel pretty lucky to have shared 10 years of life with him so far!

We’ll be taking Oct. 16-Nov. 2nd off for traveling to our wedding and honeymooning! We’ve been meticulously planning and preparing for this gathering of family and close friends, and I’m excited for us to enjoy this time together! We’ve done so much growing and changing over the years, and we deserve to set this time aside to really reconnect and experience life with some novelty (like having all of our family finally meet, and camping in the Redwoods!).

[Shameless self promotion time!]

If you feel like contributing to our honeymoon fund, you can do so here!

As always, we are so thankful for the community here in Richmond. It’s been quite a healing experience being here and feeling accepted by you all. Thank you for your support and time! It’s always so appreciated!

Sincerely,

JD Thomas

(Soon to be… JD Frazier!)
