I give you permission to be YOU

Hello all!

If you’re anything like me right now, it’s been hard to find inspiration or room for creativity these days with so much pressure and stress to just survive.

I’m right there with you!

My last blog post was 4 months ago exactly and though I’ve still been teaching and plugging away at life, I’ve struggled to return here to keep up with this part of my work.

I’m here to tell myself and others that it’s OKAY.

It’s OKAY to feel burned out.
It’s OKAY to feel like you’re just putting one foot in front of the other right now.
It’s OKAY to let 4 months of surviving be what it is.
It’s OKAY to also realize you’ve been growing in different ways.
It’s OKAY to admit that we’re all struggling through this.

Over and over again throughout these strange times, I’ve been reminded that kindness is golden more and more these days. Kindness to yourself is even more important.

Give yourself permission to relax.

Give yourself permission to rest.

Give yourself permission to enjoy pleasure.

Whatever that means for you. Whether it’s indulging in that Netflix show you’re currently on, or making a whole pot of tea for yourself, or going out for a walk in the rain…

There are a lot of ways that we are not being mean to ourselves, but what ways are we actively being KIND to ourselves?

I think nowadays, that’s my biggest lesson I’m learning with all of this “quarantime”. Let’s actively show ourselves the love and support we need so desperately. Let’s give in to our true and pure natures and be our own advocates for healing and growth.

Wishing you love and light on this rainy day in RVA,

Jenny Thomas
