The Fine Print
Health and Safety Policy: Continuing indefinitely, I have implemented health and safety measures to ensure a positive and worry-free environment for all lessons, whether in your home or mine.
I, JD Thomas, have and will continue to undergo regular medical testing to negate myself of Covid-19 risk and will immediately cancel lessons and quarantine safely if found with positive test results. Rest assured, my lifestyle and intentions are aligned with everyone’s safety and well-being in mind. I have received my first COVID-19 vaccinations in spring of 2021, and my first booster in winter of 2021. I have and will continue to obtain regular Covid and flu boosters annually.
For lessons in my own home, there will be cleaning and disinfecting between each student that enters and leaves the studio space. All surfaces that are utilized will be sanitized and wiped before another student is allowed in the studio space (piano keys, instruments, chairs, door knobs, etc.). We have a HEPA air filter running at all times; masks are not required for lessons in my home, as long as all individuals are vaccinated and feeling well.
For lessons in your home, I have multiple options that we can utilize, including: wearing a mask while maintaining a 6 ft.+ distance for the duration of the lesson, or lessons outside, weather permitting. I will consciously limit contact and unnecessary touching to prevent spread of germs. As always, lessons in your home are completely customizable to your setting and tools available. I am extremely flexible and am always willing to work with your resources and situations (Please feel free to contact me directly so we can find a unique solution for your particular situation).
If you have symptoms or tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 48 hours, please do not schedule a lesson. If you have a fever or present other symptoms of Covid-19, please try to get tested as soon as possible, limit contact, stay home and rest before scheduling a lesson time. (Better safe than sorry!)
This policy is continually updated as new information becomes available.

Rules and Terms of Agreement:
Payment for lessons and travel fees (if applicable), unless mutually agreed upon otherwise, are due immediately upon completion of the lesson (except online lessons which must be paid in full prior to the scheduled lesson time. For more information about online lessons, click here.).
All package deals, bulk specials, or gift certificates must be pre-paid in full.
Payment methods accepted are: Cash, Paypal (using the “Friends and Family” option only please), Venmo, Cashapp, Zelle, or Square (debit/credit). Sorry, checks will not be accepted from new students.

Cancellation Policy: ***PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING CANCELLATION POLICY HAS BEEN SUSPENDED DURING THE CURRENT PANDEMIC. PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO DO A LESSON IF YOU ARE SICK (this includes online lessons as well!). Cancellation Policy is subject to change, but I am continuing to uphold and follow health and safety recommendations and protocols from Richmond City officials. The health and safety of myself and my students is my top priority.*
Lessons can be paid for in advance to secure the lesson time. If a scheduled and pre-paid lesson is missed, canceled, or rescheduled with less than 12 hours notice before scheduled lesson time, the student will not be refunded for the missed lesson time. (Giving me more than 12 hour notice is imperative to the scheduling of my lessons, and is also considerate of the teacher and other students’ time. Understandably, emergencies and accidents happen and I am always willing to work with students on a case-by-case basis.)
