Breathe in, Breathe out...

Dear reader,

I don’t know about you, but the pandemic had me begging for more sunny days. I’m glad to have survived the winter and I feel like things are starting to feel more alive and bright.
I am always the hopeful optimist, so thank you for indulging in my current babble.

I am finally feeling a little more centered these days… reserving time for my own creative practices and diving into new mediums.

I am so grateful for the students that have stuck with me in the midst of so much change. It’s been an uplifting constant in the vast ocean of change that we’ve all endured throughout the past few years.

When I’m not teaching I am: maintaining my urban bucket garden, clipping images for collage art, reading (recently finished “The House on Mango Street” from Sandra Cisneros and “The Untethered Soul” from Michael A. Singer"), watching She-Ra and the Princesses of Power on Netflix, lurking on Instagram, playing with my cat Nico, practicing guitar and piano, and investing time and money into new recording equipment so I can record some more music.

I especially want to share my gratitude for my partner, Jared. He’s taken a big share of the workload at home for me to be able to go out and work. Not to brag, but he’s a really good cook and I am so lucky to have a partner that supports both of our careers with so much gusto.

Overall, I find myself speechless for even being alive and experiencing this world the only way I can. I am able to share this gift of music with people and that regenerates my soul. I am very hopeful for growth, for change, and for happiness. I am grateful for you and your support. Thank you for following and witnessing and I hope to hear more from you soon!

Sincerely,
JD “Miss Jenny” Thomas
